With the exception of a few sperm banks, most do not offer free photos; they are one of the "list" items you can buy to find out more information about your donors. If a sperm bank offers a subscription-based site (e.g. you pay a $50 for three months unlimited access to all donor information), the photos are included.
Another fact you should know is that the majority of donor photos offered by sperm banks are of the bank's sperm donors as babies, not adults. If there are adult photos, its not unusual for a sperm bank to charge a premium for those photos.
Sperm donor photos are an important part of the process for many women, whether its baby or adult photos, so you shouldn't hesitate if it's something you need to make the right decision for you. On the other hand, some women feel that a photo isn't integral to deciding on their ideal sperm donor.
Remember: you're already investing much in this process and in the grand scheme of things, at an average price of $26, a baby or adult photo isn't likely to break the bank, even if you buy 5 of them.
