After spending hours on the computer checking all kinds of different sperm donation centers I found myself getting very frustrated and discouraged. I knew this journey would be expensive but I guess I didnt realize how expensive. We would prefer going through a serm bank to achieve our ultimate goal. We have thought about finding a friend to donate sperm for us. My fear doing it that way is that there will be so many other legal problems. I dont want the chance of a father to appear later in life to become a part of our child life. Plus the medical component to it. There is so much to worry about medically.
Back to the expenses part. Like I said I knew it wouldnt be cheap. We are not a wealthy family. We both work and do what we need to make ends meet. It has been very frustrating trying to figure out how we can do this.
Our 2 children are mine from a previous relationship. I want my partner to experience all the wonderful things of being pregnant and having a child that is truly a part of you.We are praying that some day this will happen for us.

Mimi, we feel for you. It can definitely become a crazy process. If I had to recommend a course of action, I would recommend going through a reputable sperm bank. All the ones listed on SpermCenter are registered with the FDA and the great thing about a sperm bank is they do all the medical, genetic and disease screening for you.
Also keep in mind that there are a number of fertility clinics who have paymnent or financing programs, so if you can find a way to afford the sperm, you may be able to get help with costs for insemination, fertility treatments etc. Also check with your insurance company to see what they cover.
